Supporting Local Creators
The Farm Stand at Zimmer Ranch isn’t just for us!
Our little stand also offers year-round access for local creatives and budding entrepreneurs.
Take AmandaMade, for example, a local crocheting guru with custom patterns we couldn’t wait to see in person! Check out her mini farm animals, available at our stand, or visit her online platforms for other incredible designs!

Pumpkin Drop
The benefits of Halloween creations live on well past October 31st at Zimmer Ranch!
Each year we welcome pumpkin drop offs at our farm stand, to share with the animals through November and beyond.
Whole pumpkins are stored and set aside for mid winter enjoyment while carved pumpkins are distributed throughout the barnyard providing entertainment and nutrients to chickens, goats and pigs alike!
For the 2025 season, the City of Invermere graciously shared our facebook post encouraging over 60 pumpkin drop offs for the Barnyard to enjoy!
Santa Letters
When Canada Post went on strike in 2024, Kari was inspired to think about local kids.
Setting up a Santa Mailbox beside the Farm Stand, Kari received and replied to over 80 handwritten letters to Santa from Columbia Valley residents!
She was delighted to find a surprise feature in the local paper and looks forward to continuing the tradition for years to come!

Santa’s Barnyard Visit
December 2025 marked the first annual Barnyard visit with Santa at Zimmer Ranch.
This first try at a now annual community event was an overwhelming success, welcoming approximately 175 people to sip hot chocolate, warm their hands at the fire pits, roast marshmallows, visit with the animals and, of course, spend time with Santa!
It was a joy to share fresh snow, barnyard antics and quality time with Santa with the local community. The support was overwhelming and heartfelt. We look forward to continuing the tradition for years to come!
Entrepreneurial Scholarships
Beyond being creative and daring in her approach to life, Kari is a successful entrepreneur. Owning several local businesses, Kari employs over a dozen local people, right here in the valley.
In an attempt to support and encourage young people to achieve their ambitions, Kari also supports an annual scholarship for local high school graduates who aspire to be entrepreneurs. DTSS students are encouraged to apply each spring through the high school scholarship program.
This part of Kari’s life goes beyond the happenings at Zimmer Ranch, but connects intimately to the ongoing determination she believes is required to make dreams come true.

Group Tours
It is a real privilege to share the joys of barnyard living with the community!
Community visits to Zimmer Ranch include seniors groups from Columbia Garden Village, private birthday parties and more.
One of Kari’s daughter’s, Dannika, also started a school tour program between the local elementary school and Zimmer Ranch. These visits are rich in enthusiasm and learning for visitors and the Zimmer Farm-ily alike!
