What began with 6 chickens, a pet pig and a heart eager to be filled….evolved into rescuing a miniature cow, adopting a pair of re-homed sheep, accepting a couple goats, and then a few more, and then a few more, and adding endless varieties of heritage chickens each year… the rest is just window dressing!
Love is Addicting!

Zimmer Ranch is now home to nearly a dozen four-footed friends and a flourishing feathered flock of chickens, turkeys, geese, duck, quail and specialty chickens. 

Taking care of each Ranch Resident is a full time job for mom to them all, Kari Zimmer, who enjoys not only living on the Ranch but sharing it’s joys with the wider community of the Columbia Valley.

Through the sale of homemade goat milk soaps, orchard jams, preserves, locally created crafts and farm fresh eggs at her road side Farm Stand, Kari offers a hidden gem hiding in plain sight, right in the middle of the Windermere Valley.

Kari is delighted to share Zimmer Ranch with residents of Windermere, Invermere and beyond.

She does so by organizing events and popular “Farm Visits By Donation”, offering a “Treat Window” in the fence for local families to feed the animals 24/7/365, hosting a farm-side Bed & Breakfast, selling local goods at her road side Farm Stand, guiding tours for schools and local groups, operating a free “Dear Santa” mail station near the holidays, and more.
